Welcome to Uniquely Me Psychology. I'm delighted that you found your way here and look forward to connecting with you. ♡
A psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive process designed to better understand a child's unique learning profile. It gathers information about cognitive abilities, academic strengths and challenges, social-emotional functioning, and attention and executive functioning skills. Data is collected using a combination of formal tools (such as standardized tests and rating scales) and informal methods (including conversations with parents, the child, and school staff, as well as a review of medical and educational history). This information provides a clear understanding of how the child thinks and learns. When appropriate, the results may support a diagnosis. Most importantly, they offer practical, personalized recommendations to help the child succeed at school and beyond.
Uniquely Me Psychology offers assessments for:
Learning challenges (e.g. Specific Learning Disabilities such as Dyslexia)
Attention difficulties (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
Cognitive profiles (e.g. Intellectual Developmental Disorder)
Giftedness
Non-diagnostic mental health screening (e.g. anxiety, depression)
I am proud to offer multi-disciplinary autism assessments for children, youth, and young adults. The purpose of autism assessment is to gather comprehensive information about an individual’s developmental, behavioural, adaptive, and cognitive functioning to determine whether they meet the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder. The assessment process includes multiple appointments in which data is gathered via parent consultation, in-person assessment with your child, and standardized rating scales. All autism assessments are completed collaboratively with Kirsten Seto, Registered Speech and Language Pathologist.
Whether or not a diagnosis is made, our goal is for families to walk away from the autism assessment process with greater clarity, confidence, and insight into how to support their child in a way that honours who they are. This process doesn’t change your child—it deepens your understanding of their unique strengths, needs, and ways of experiencing the world.
Approximate cost for autism assessment is $3000.00; however, assessment prices vary depending on components necessary for a comprehensive evaluation and time required. Cost of assessment is discussed prior to the start of services. Following assessment, you will be provided with an invoice for reimbursement according to your insurance plan. Given that our autism assessments are multi-disciplinary (both a registered psychologist and registered speech and language pathologist are involved), you may be able to claim insurance for services under both professions.
